Dr. Jenna Donaldson, DVM - Founder, Chief Medical Officer
Jenna graduated from OVC in 2013 and has been working as an equine vet ever since, practicing in Alberta, New York and southern Ontario. Jenna is passionate about sustainability in equine practice, and enjoys employing design thinking to practice problems. As a long time ambulatory vet, she's worked in practices of all sizes, and knows that even in a great on-call group, equine practices still struggle with sustainability. Dr. Donaldson is skilled at building processes that support high quality care, and leading in a team environment.
Dr. Michelle Courtemanche, DVM - Veterinary On-Call Team - Trillium West
Dr. Courtemanche graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. After completing and equine internship in western NY she returned home to Ontario and has been practicing in this area ever since. For the last few years Michelle has been providing locum services to several local veterinarians. We are excited to add her experience to our team at Trillium and look forward to the value she will bring to our clients.
In her free time Michelle is a devoted equestrian who competes at the FEI level in Combined Driving with her pony Hannah (and her groom/navigator husband). She and her husband Andrew are also avid mountain bikers and campers in the summer and enjoy snowshoeing and sleighing with Hannah in the winter.
Dr. Megan Donati, DVM - Veterinary On-Call Team - Trillium West
Dr. Megan Donati graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2021. Dr. Donati also works as an ambulatory veterinarian at Bennett Equine Veterinary Services in Cambridge. She enjoys all aspects of equine practice including emergency care and medicine.
Prior to working as a veterinarian, Dr. Donati was a passionate rider competing on the ‘A’ circuit in the equitation and jumper rings. In her spare time now, she enjoys spending time at her family’s cottage, hiking and skiing.
Dr. Kristen Frederick, DVM - Veterinary On-Call Team - Trillium West
Dr. Kristen Frederick graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. She has experience in both equine and small animal practice, and her professional interests include anesthesia, pain management and emergency medicine.
Kristen lives in Hamilton with her fiancé Dane and their mischievous orange cat Leonard. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys horseback riding, rock climbing, sailing, reading and travelling.
Dr. Cristina Lopez de Arbina, DVM - Veterinary On-Call Team - Trillium West
Dr. Cristina grew up in San Sebastian, a small coastal town in the North of Spain. She began riding horses at 7 years old and was show jumping by the age of 12. Later she stopped riding to focus on her career goals and once she was in veterinary school, realized equine medicine was her calling. In 2014 Cristina graduated from the veterinary school Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid. She went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Equine Medicine by 2016, with a special interest in gastrointestinal pathology in neonatal foals. Cristina has accomplished many equine internships in Spain and France, as well as externships at equine hospitals in England. She worked at Woodbine racetrack for 3 years prior to starting her current daytime position with Troy Equine Services in 2022. She believes the most important lesson of her career thus far has been learning to adapt and thrive in different working environments, using new approaches to assist in the way she practices. Cristina is excited that she has recently begun riding again! She loves to travel to exotic destinations, but at home she spends her time outdoors hiking, running and camping, or hanging with her rescue cats, Asha, Awesome, and Amiri.
